Education
Education is the foundation for the existence of the Bay Area Business Travel Association. BABTA was founded in 1975 by a group of travel industry leaders that wanted to raise the knowledge and professionalism of those individuals whose careers were in managing or selling travel related services. Each of our monthly meetings is designed to provide current, leading edge information to our membership, and to create a comfortable social environment where networking and peer recognition can be accomplished informally.
As an affiliate of the Global Business Travel Association, BABTA supports and recognizes the professional education programs they offer:
GBTA Webinars and Online Training
GBTA Webinars are web-based distance learning and educational programs that allow GBTA Members and Chapter Members to participate in live interactive forums on business travel industry issues and simultaneously view presentations. Each GBTA Webinar program runs up to 60 minutes in length. A host moderator fields questions or comments from the participants and directs them to the presenter, allowing for group interaction and feedback.
Global Travel Professional (GTP)
The GTP Certification is designed to raise industry standards, enhance work performance, and recognize individuals who demonstrate core competencies essential to the business travel management discipline.
GBTA Continuing Education Program
Under the new GBTA Academy, all participants of the past GBTA educational programs in CCTE™, SMMC™ and CGTE are members of the Academy and may maintain their designations. GBTA has made it easier to maintain your designations by replacing electives with Continuing Education Units (CEUs). To receive CEU credits, complete the GTP Recertification Form online. For additional information, please visit the GBTA website at GBTA Continuing Education Program.
