First of all, I would like to thank the Board and members of BABTA for this great opportunity as the scholarship participant at the 2017 GBTA convention. This is my first time attending at a business travel related convention, My mind was filled with excitement for the unparalleled educational and networking opportunities for this newbie to the business travel world.

The experience of being a scholarship attendee meant that I had the time and freedom to attend as many relevant seminars and educational programs as I possibly could.  This year the topic focused on "Harvesting energy and collaborative effort of the disruptive innovation”  My interest lied within the up and coming changes that impact the travel industry- such the emergent of bots, bitcoins, virtual payment system, internet security and the growing influence of millennial travelers revolutionizing our industry.

Outside of the convention, the vast number of after hour social events hosted by various vendors and buyers, meant that the convention is a multi-faceted event that offer attendees plenty of opportunities to build that person to person connection and friendships.

Having been a first time participant, I would highly recommend my fellow BABTA members to seriously look at the exceptional values that this annual gathering of global top business travel leaders along with movers and shakers to be an investment that would generate great ROI.  I further go on to  encourage you to apply for the BABTA Scholarship and use this wonderful resource to further your dream and aspiration in our industry.
