BABTA President's Message

February 2022

Dear BABTA Members, Fellow Board Members and Friends:

It is a privilege to be here with you and serve amongst some incredibly talented business travel professionals. You teach me something new every day. Our agility was once again tested at the beginning of this year; but we adjusted quickly by switching our January through March programs to virtual meetings. We can’t wait to safely see you in person with opportunities to connect, give back to our community, celebrate diversity and learn from fellow experts.

According to GBTA research and many other indicators, business travel is turning the corner. Companies are exploring what the future of work and what business travel is going to look like for their respective organizations. Demand is coming back; and I’m thrilled to hear that some of you have been able to reestablish yourselves with new positions in the travel industry. While many of you are carrying a heavier load in your new roles than we could imagine, it is a start in the right direction.  

The industry is going to look differently than pre-pandemic times, with its own set of challenges and exciting opportunities. BABTA is committed to offering the content, education and networking opportunities needed to tackle the future together. This includes learning how we can leverage GBTA’s Government Relations efforts to influence policies that fuel business travel’s recovery. Thank you for being here with us as we embark on the beginning of a new chapter for business travel!
